The CBU-89A GATOR is an American cluster bomb developed for rapid and effective air-delivered area mining. Its design combines anti-tank (AT) and anti-personnel (APERS) submunitions, making it possible to block enemy troop movement without the need to commit ground forces. First widely used during Operation Desert Storm (1991), it was later deployed in other conflicts involving the USA – both during the Cold War and in modern times.
