Historical description:
The Firestreak missile, or Hawker Siddeley Firestreak (originally known as Fairey Fireflash), was a British short-range air-to-air missile, widely used by the Royal Air Force. It entered service in the late 1950s and early 1960s, serving as the main armament of fighters such as the English Electric Lightning and the Gloster Javelin. Firestreaks were used by the RAF into the 1980s, being, alongside the Red Top, the most important guided missiles of that era. This model will be ideal for dioramas or models of British aircraft from the late 1950s to the early 1980s, i.e., the Cold War period.

Why do we recommend it?
The RESKIT RS72-0410 set is perfect as a realistic addition to British Cold War fighter models. Thanks to its precise workmanship, it is an excellent choice for experienced modelers who value historical accuracy and the highest level of detail. We particularly recommend it to those working on aviation dioramas or looking to enrich their collection with faithful replicas of military equipment.

Assembly difficulty level: 2/5 – recommended for intermediate modelers, requires basic assembly and painting skills.

Scale
1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
