Historical Description of the Grumman G-36A

The Grumman G-36A is an export version of the famous Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter, produced especially for Great Britain under the name Martlet Mk.I and for the Netherlands. These aircraft were introduced into service with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm and, for a short time, the Dutch Air Force between 1940 and 1941. The Grumman G-36A proved its worth during operations in the Mediterranean and Atlantic, providing convoy protection and support for naval aviation.
