Short historical note: The Nakajima Ki-21-Ia is a Japanese medium bomber that began its service with the Thai Air Force in the spring of 1941. Delivered by Japan after the US refused to export bombers, the aircraft were assigned to Kong Bin Noi 6 unit. They were initially used for patrol missions, then for combat operations in Burma in support of the fight against Chinese national forces. After 1942, they were primarily employed for training and transport tasks, remaining in service until the end of the war and stationed, among others, at Don Muang airfield.
Build difficulty level: 3/5 – recommended for intermediate modellers. The model features a detailed cockpit interior, precise components, and a multi-part wing assembly, making construction a satisfying challenge. The step-by-step instruction guide leads through all assembly stages, but the kit is best suited for those with some modelling experience.
Recommendation: This model is recommended for WWII aviation enthusiasts, collectors of unique aircraft variants, and anyone interested in exotic subjects from Far Eastern aviation history. It is a unique proposition for anyone wishing to enrich their collection with an unusual aircraft in Thai markings.
