Historical Description of Sd.Kfz.171 Panther G

The Sd.Kfz.171 Panther Ausf. G is one of the most advanced versions of the German Panther tank, introduced into production in mid-1944. The G version featured improved armor and an enhanced hull design. The Panther G was used on all fronts until the end of the war, and its menacing silhouette and excellent ballistic performance made it feared by Allied tank crews. Zimmerit – a special, ridged coating – was applied to make it more difficult to attach magnetic mines to the armor, making the model even more historically accurate.

Dragon 6384 Panther G with Zimmerit Model Features

  • Exceptionally realistic reproduction of zimmerit texture on the hull and turret
  • Precise details – numerous sprues, detailed external and internal components
  • Photo-etched parts to enhance realism (e.g., grill and handle details)
  • Segmented tracks presenting a realistic link arrangement

Who is this model recommended for?

The Dragon 6384 Panther G with Zimmerit model is especially recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers who value high detail quality and historical accuracy. It is also perfect for collectors of World War II tanks, as well as enthusiasts of German armored technology. This is not just a great opportunity to develop modeling skills, but also an excellent item for diorama collections and themed displays.

  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
