Yamamoto YMP4803 RUHRSTAHL X-4 Early VERSION 1/48

The RUHRSTAHL X-4 Early VERSION model from Yamamoto Model Parts is a faithfully reproduced set of four air-to-air rockets in 1:48 scale. This unique resin plastic model represents German weaponry from the World War II era, designed for mounting on aircraft such as the Me-262 and Fw-190, as well as other late-war Luftwaffe machines.

Ruhrstahl X-4 was an innovative guided missile design developed by Ruhrstahl AG in Germany as a response to the growing threat posed by Allied bombers. The first system tests were conducted in 1944-1945. The missile guidance system was based on electric wires connecting the missile to the carrier aircraft. The operator could precisely control the missile in flight, marking one of the very first steps toward modern air-to-air missile technology. Although the X-4 was not employed on a mass operational scale before the end of the war, the work on the program laid the foundations for the dynamic development of rocket systems in the postwar era.

  • Model scale: 1/48
  • Country of use: Germany (Third Reich)
  • Period of use: World War II (years 1944-1945)
  • Material: high-quality plastic and decal sheet
  • Set includes: 4 X-4 rockets (each in 3 parts), 4 dedicated underwing mounts, decal sheet with markings
  • Recommended for Me-262, Fw-190, and other Luftwaffe aircraft models
  • Category: plastic model kit – aircraft accessories
  • Assembly difficulty: 2/5 – model requires careful assembly and basic modeling experience

It's an excellent choice to increase the realism of your projects and deepen your knowledge of the Luftwaffe's pioneering rocket solutions.

Scale

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
