The Gloster Meteor was the first British (and the second in the world after the German Me 262) jet fighter to enter service during the final years of World War II. In fact, the Israeli Meteor Mk.9 carried out the first documented jet kill by IAF pilots, which made this aircraft enter the annals of military aviation history.
