Historical Description of the Vessel

The aircraft carrier Kaga was one of the pillars of Japanese naval forces during World War II. She entered service in 1928 after being converted from a planned battleship into an aircraft carrier in compliance with naval treaties. Kaga took part in many of the largest battles of the early Pacific conflict, including the attack on Pearl Harbor as well as the Coral Sea and Midway campaigns. The ship was sunk on June 4, 1942, during the Battle of Midway, which proved to be a turning point in the Pacific War.
