RESKIT RS48-0301 English Electric Lightning Wheels set early type 1/48

The RESKIT RS48-0301 English Electric Lightning Wheels set early type 1/48 is a high-quality detail accessory dedicated to modelers building the plastic model of the legendary British fighter English Electric Lightning in 1:48 scale. This product has been designed with compatibility for the popular Airfix kit in mind, but can also be used with other kits in the same scale. The set includes three finely detailed wheels for the main and nose landing gear, in the early type variant, which allow you to recreate the authentic look of the original machine from the early production series.

Material and Technology: The wheels are precisely cast from high-quality resin using advanced casting techniques. The resin parts feature exceptional detail sharpness, superbly defined tread, and a realistic rim profile with characteristic ventilation holes. Thanks to this, you can easily distinguish the RESKIT set from standard plastic tires. The set does not include add-ons such as metal covers or photo-etched parts, which results in easier assembly.

Historical Overview of the English Electric Lightning

The English Electric Lightning fighter was the primary supersonic interceptor of the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Cold War. It served intensively from the late 1950s until the mid-1980s. Its distinguishing feature was a unique design with two engines mounted one above the other and outstanding performance – the Lightning was one of the few aircraft capable of exceeding Mach 2 and making rapid interceptions of Soviet reconnaissance aircraft over the North Sea.
