The P-40 Warhawk was an American fighter produced during World War II by Curtiss-Wright. It was mainly used by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), as well as the British, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, and Soviet air forces. The M and N versions of this aircraft featured improved performance and the installation of modern "fishtail" exhausts, which resulted in more efficient expulsion of exhaust gases and contributed positively to the aircraft's performance.

P-40M/N Warhawks were widely used on various fronts during World War II, including Africa, the Far East, and Europe, forming the backbone of Allied air forces from 1943–1945. The characteristic "fishtail" exhausts were visible on machines operating in the famous "Flying Tigers" unit in China, among others.

The Quickboost QB48442 set allows for a significant increase in realism of the Hasegawa model, offering intricate exhaust reproduction unavailable in the original kit. The resin parts are very sharply detailed and easy to assemble even for intermediate modelers. The set does not include metal or photo-etched parts, but the precision of the resin elements ensures an exceptionally high level of detail.

Assembly difficulty level is rated 2/5 – the product is suitable for both beginner and advanced modelers wishing to improve the realism of their P-40M/N model’s finishing. Recommended for aircraft modeling enthusiasts and historians passionate about World War II aviation.

If you care about faithfully reproducing scale details and increasing the realism, Quickboost QB48442 is definitely highly recommended for every modeler’s collection.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
