The MiG-21PF and MiG-21PFM are highly recognizable Soviet supersonic fighters, made famous in Czechoslovakia by the aerobatic displays of the Silver Arrows ("Stříbrné Šípy") team. Produced from the early 1960s, these airplanes formed the core of air defense in Warsaw Pact countries until the end of communism. They took part in exercises, interceptor missions, and numerous airshows across Central Europe.
