The P-51H Mustang is the final version of the famous American fighter aircraft, introduced at the end of World War II and used during the beginnings of the postwar period (years 1945–1951, World War II period and the first postwar years). The H version was lighter, faster, and equipped with the Packard V-1650-9 engine, making it one of the most advanced piston-engine fighters of its time. Although it did not take part in World War II combat, it served in the US Air Force postwar, with several units delivered to the National Guard.
