Eduard 35743 Challenger II Desert 1/35 Tamiya – photo-etched set

The Eduard 35743 Challenger II Desert 1/35 Tamiya photo-etched set is a high-quality accessory intended for all demanding modelers wishing to thoroughly enhance their plastic model of the Tamiya Challenger II Desert tank in 1:35 scale. The set consists of two detailed photo-etched frets that significantly increase the level of detail, especially in areas where realistic reproduction is difficult to achieve with plastic alone.

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Compatibility: Tamiya Challenger II Desert models
  • Country of original user: United Kingdom
  • Material: high-quality photo-etched metal
  • Add-ons: set of 2 plates including external and internal details
  • Product category: modeling accessories, photo-etched set

The Challenger II is the main battle tank of the British Army, introduced into service in the second half of the 1990s (modern era). It was used during, among other things, military operations in the Middle East, including Iraq as part of Operation Telic. The "desert" version was adapted for use in extreme desert conditions, featuring specialized panels that protect the hull and suspension.

Eduard's photo-etched parts have been precisely designed based on original documentation and analysis of real vehicles. They allow accurate reproduction of, among others, details of mesh screens, handles, external equipment mounts, headlight guards, and details on the upper surfaces of the hull and turret. The set enables exceptional reproduction of even the smallest details, enhancing both the display quality and historical accuracy of the model.

The Eduard 35743 set is recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers (difficulty level 4/5), mainly due to the need for precise cutting, bending, and gluing of small metal parts. It performs excellently in building competition models where every detail counts. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to bring extraordinary realism and detail, unattainable in standard plastic kits, to their Tamiya Challenger II model.

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
