The E-75 Flakpanzer was part of the conceptual German "E" (Entwicklung) series of armored vehicles, developed towards the end of World War II, mainly to standardize production and increase the efficiency of repairs and logistics. On May 8, 1944, the German Inspector General of Anti-Aircraft Weapons commissioned the development of a turret with a twin 5.5 cm anti-aircraft gun (Zwillingsflak) for vehicles based on the E-50/E-75 chassis. The project was led by Krupp and Rheinmetall. By January 1945, a prototype of the turret itself had been built, but the vehicle never entered mass production or saw combat use.
