A-Model 72206 Bisnovat '5-1' and '5-2' Soviet Rocket Experimental Aircraft 1/72

We offer a unique plastic model kit of the A-Model 72206 Bisnovat '5-1' and '5-2' in 1/72 scale. This is a faithful miniature of Soviet experimental rocket-powered aircraft designed in the period directly after World War II — at the turn of the 1940s and early 1950s. The presented set allows you to build both prototypes, which were a significant step in the development of Soviet aeronautical technology during the so-called Cold War.

The Bisnovat 5-1 and 5-2 aircraft were designed in the USSR by engineer Mikhail Alexeyevich Bisnovat as part of a program aimed at developing rocket-powered aircraft. These models served as test platforms for new aerodynamic solutions and propulsion technologies. The prototypes were mainly used for studying supersonic speeds and the behavior of the fuselage and controllability under extreme flight conditions. The trials were conducted at the end of the 1940s, and both units remain today as important evidence of Soviet aviation experiments during the Cold War era.

  • Scale: 1/72 – ideal for building a collection of experimental aircraft designs.
  • User country: Soviet Union (USSR).
  • Historical period: Post-war era of experiments, Cold War period (1948-1950).
  • Material: high-quality modelling plastic; the model requires self-assembly and painting.
  • The set does not include glue or paints – allows for individual color selection and model customization.
  • Category: plastic model kit.
  • The set includes: details enabling the reproduction of both the 5-1 and 5-2 versions, as well as decals with original prototype markings.

A-Model 72206 Bisnovat '5-1' & '5-2' is an excellent option especially for experienced modelers and enthusiasts of aircraft scale modeling and the history of Soviet technological experiments. Building both aircraft provides a challenge suitable for an intermediate skill level of 3/5 – proficiency in working with small parts and accurate painting of details is recommended.

We recommend this model to all collectors interested in unusual and rare aircraft, and to anyone expanding their knowledge about the development of aviation in the twentieth century!

Scale
1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
