  • Material: high-quality self-adhesive modeling foil
  • Recommended for: AIRFIX Spitfire F. Mk.22/24 model
  • Country of origin of prototype: United Kingdom
  • Historical period: post-war years, just after World War II
  • Application: canopy, wheels – fast and precise painting

The Spitfire F. Mk.22/24 are the last and fastest variants of the legendary Supermarine Spitfire fighter, which first entered service with the Royal Air Force in the summer of 1945. This version featured the powerful Griffon engine, modified wings, and significantly improved aerodynamics, symbolizing the transition of aviation from the World War II era into the jet age. It was used mainly by the RAF and auxiliary units at the start of the Cold War, being operated in missions over Europe as well as for training and patrol duties.

The Eduard EX610 set contains precisely cut masks for the canopy (including both the top and the side, sliding glazing parts), as well as for the wheels of the model. The masks are made from professional modeling film, guaranteeing excellent adhesion to plastic surfaces and easy removal after painting – without the risk of damaging delicate details or the clear canopy glazing.

  • Assembly difficulty level: 1/5 (perfect even for beginner modelers!)
  • Recommended for: plastic modelers of all skill levels, especially those who value clean and perfect painting of 1/48 scale aircraft models.

Eduard’s EX610 masks are among the most practical accessories, allowing you to achieve a masterful effect without the tedious task of cutting shapes by hand, ensuring a perfectly painted canopy and wheels on your Spitfire Mk. 22/24 model. Highly recommended for both beginners and advanced modelers.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
