Techmod 72116 – Japanese Hinomarus (1/72)

Techmod 72116 – Japanese Hinomarus is a professional decal set in 1/72 scale, intended for modelers building replicas of Japanese aircraft from the Second World War period. The decals feature Hinomaru emblems, the distinctive red "suns" that served as the official insignia of Japan's military aviation from 1937 to 1945. Hinomaru were used by the Empire of Japan on aircraft such as the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa, Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien, and many other machines that participated in the battles over the Pacific.

The set offers a wide selection of size variants without a border (500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1200, 1300 mm) as well as with a white border (650, 750, 850, 950, 1050, 1150, 1250, 1350 mm). Thanks to this, the modeler can easily fit the decals to various models in this scale, including both fighter planes and bombers. The decals are printed on high-quality, thin film, ensuring excellent adhesion even to finely detailed model surfaces and vibrant colors consistent with the historical standards of Japanese aviation.

  • Scale: 1/72
  • Country of use: Japan
  • Historical period: World War II
  • Product type: Aircraft model decals
  • Material: Decal – high-quality print on special transfer paper
  • Hinomaru variants: Various sizes, with and without white border
  • Application: Aircraft models from various manufacturers, e.g. Hasegawa, Tamiya, Airfix, Revell, Academy, etc.

We recommend Techmod 72116 both to beginner modelers and experienced enthusiasts of historical aviation modeling, especially those who want to recreate authentic Japanese aircraft camouflage patterns. The set offers wide personalization possibilities and is intended for models in the "plastic model kit" category. The application difficulty rating for these decals is 1/5 – it is a very easy way to finish your model. Hassle-free application and resistance to modeling agents make this set an excellent choice.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
