Historical Description of the F4U-1A Corsair

The F4U-1A Corsair fighter was developed for the United States Navy, and also operated by the US Marine Corps and the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. This aircraft was one of the most important and recognizable carrier-based fighters of World War II, widely used from 1942 until the end of the conflict in 1945, and, to a limited extent, even during the Korean War.
