Eduard FE320 OV-1B RODEN 1/48

Eduard FE320 OV-1B RODEN 1/48 is a highly detailed photo-etched parts set designed to enhance the OV-1B Mohawk observation aircraft model in 1:48 scale, manufactured by Roden. The set is made from high-quality brass sheet, precisely etched and partially printed with industrially applied colored paints, providing exceptional accuracy in replicating cockpit and interior details.

  • Scale: 1:48
  • Country of use: United States of America (USA)
  • Material: Photo-etched brass sheet, colored elements
  • Category: Photo-etched set, accessories for plastic models
  • Fits: Roden OV-1B Mohawk model (1:48 scale)

The OV-1B Mohawk is a twin-engine, crewed reconnaissance-class observation aircraft primarily used by the U.S. Army. The Mohawk's design was developed in the late 1950s by Grumman. The greatest advantages of this machine were its excellent performance, ability to perform reconnaissance missions even in difficult conditions, and its advanced observation systems, including infrared cameras. The OV-1B aircraft was intensively utilized during the Vietnam War for reconnaissance tasks, detecting enemy movement, and directing artillery and friendly forces.

The Eduard FE320 accessory set was created especially for demanding modelers who wish to enrich their OV-1B model with realistic cockpit details: instrument panels are accurately reproduced and covered with colored print, enabling a professional effect without the need for time-consuming hand painting. The set also includes precise seatbelts and various levers, switches, and lighting components, all of which significantly enhance the realism of the model.

This product is an ideal choice for both advanced modelers and intermediate hobbyists who wish to improve the cockpit appearance of their model. The assembly difficulty level is 3/5, so even less experienced modelers can handle the installation, provided they work with precision and patience. We highly recommend this set to all aviation modeling enthusiasts and collectors of Cold War era equipment.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
