The Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf.B model is based on the Czech CKD Praga design from 1938, which was taken over by the Wehrmacht after the occupation of Czechoslovakia. Initially intended to strengthen Czechoslovak armored forces, it became one of the most successful light tanks of the early World War II period. It served, among others, in the 7th and 8th Panzer Divisions during the invasion of France in 1940. A popular command variant was also produced, the Pz.BfWg 38(t), equipped with a Fu 8 radio set.
